Plot sumary	A young boy named Kubo must locate a magical suit of armor worn by his late father in order to defeat a vengeful spirit from the past.

Kubo lives a quiet, normal life in a small shoreside village until a spirit from the past turns his life upside down by re-igniting an age-old vendetta. Human Review
The animation/stop-motion on this movie was amazing. The visuals are great, the voice acting is top notch and the sequences of action are top notch as well. My one complaint about the movie and the reason it dragged my score down a little was because the overall plot was a bit...muddled. I won't go into why I think that because I don't want to give anything away, but I will say I wasn't the only one at the screening who felt the same way. The only other thing I would point out is that this MAY not be a great film to take younger (5 - 8 years old) children to, I could see some of the sequences being a bit frightening for them, but, as an adult I really liked how dark some of it was. Overall the film was really good and I would definitely recommend seeing it. Great original story. The ending could have been a little better, but it's still my favorite animated movie of the year.

I have not seen this movie yet. Question: How in the world can you even compete with the 1959 gem with all the seasoned actors, story writers, director, musical scores and depth or commitment to the project itself when choosing this movie to remake? What was anyone thinking? I read the book which was not very inviting but full of here & there bits and pieces but having first seen the 1959 made it easier and memorable to do. One of the strengths of the first movie was not focusing on Christ himself but on the story and events He brought about. After all, the movie is about Ben Hur. In this remake, they give Jesus a starring role, they tell the same story with minor changes, reproduce a classic race and want us to fall under the spell of the concept. But that is just the point. The concept has its origins in the 1959 movie. How do we know this? Ask anyone who has seen it how many times did they watch it again & again? That should tell you that it is a classic, must see top of the line high bar movie with unforgettable scenes. Today, Hollywood may have the words but not the music. They have the money but not the talent and if they would concentrate on quality instead of rate of return, they would get both. I will see this movie because you can't go wrong in the story which captures ones imagination for it is down to earth, emotional pulls and pushes. But looking forward to seeing it? No, you will have to try harder Hollywood to get that. For you first timers, see the 1959 version first then go see this or read the book. Then, you will know what I know and be happy and content.

'War dogs' is one of the most anticipated movies of this summer. When I saw the trailer it felt to me that there is so much fun and it will be a good entertainer movie. Casting is also good. Jonah Hill is a good actor but is a very good comedian and Miles teller is a promising actor. It is a "based on true story" film so My expectation was huge and as a comedy movie it is good and the story pick up is fair. The title of the film tells you nothing but maybe this is a metaphor. I am not telling this is only a comedy and fun film. The story is very serious and there are good crude and real incident humor are in this movie. So if anyone is searching the seriousness of that issue it will be good. This is the story of two young men, David Packouz and Efraim Diveroli. They won a contract of 300 million from the Pentagon to arm America's allies in Afghanistan. It is a very funny story and the script makes this more interesting. There are lots of real incidents with good political humor and good double meaning dialogues. These double meaning dialogues will make you laugh and the political drama will make you thinking the real reason of the arms dealing. Jonah Hill and Miles Teller has done a very good job and the background score is a perfect matching. The story is good and fresh with good humor. the direction could have been better but not bad. The only negative point is movie's pace. Very slow pace movie and sometimes I felt the continuity is not built well. The story-telling style is also another negative point. It could have been better. Otherwise, it is a good movie. The story writer could have made this more believable but after all I will say it is a good choice for fun lover.

Human Review
This movie, in my opinion, is mislabeled. The trailers would lead you to believe it's a hilarious comedy about an old crazy woman who dreams of being a singer despite being tone-deaf. There are elements of that, of course, but it has much more to it than just that. Don't get me wrong, there are a fair few funny moments, especially the first time we hear Jenkins screeching wildly, and watching McMoon desperately contain his laughter. These successes are partially due to Nicholas Martin's organic and genuine screenplay, but mostly down to great casting (apart from some of the terrible secondary characters!). Simon Helberg is fantastic as the competent and camp young pianist, and Hugh Grant gives his best performance in years as Jenkins' devoted husband. But the movie belongs to Meryl Streep, who once again proves that nothing is beyond her. Each word she smoothly speaks, or screechingly screams, feels like her own as she embodies "the world's worst singer". Technically, the movie is impressive too. The 1940s mis-en-scene is brilliant, from the outrageous outfits to the elegant decor and old-fashioned automobiles that inhabit wartime New York. Cohen's cinematography and Bonelli's editing keep the film moving (physically and emotionally), but Stephen Frears is the true genius, taking a story which could have been boring and turning it into something engaging. As with Philomena, Frears has taken a sad, gentle, tender story and made it surprisingly feel-good, fun and enjoyable without shying away from the melancholy. Florence Foster Jenkins, the movie and the person, is inspirational. Not in the usual way either. Jenkins is a woman so passionate about what she loves that her lack of talent is seemingly pointless. Meryl Streep is ace again. It is no easy thing to sing badly, especially when you can sing really well like Streep, but here her performance is littered with dreadfully amusing warbling. Streep isn't the only great performance here. Hugh Grant gets his best performance yet in the role of Jenkins' husband who will do whatever it takes to make sure her passion is shown. Simon Helberg nearly runs away with the movie in a delightfully tick-like performance so understatedly amusing, he deserves an acting nom for this. Sometimes the film leaves the viewer in a strange middle ground between laughter and sadness but perhaps this is the point. Florence Foster Jenkins is a film for those tired of the loud blockbusters and crass comedies clogging the multiplex around this time. It's delightfully funny but poignant cinema and great counterprogramming to the wild comedy Sausage Party and family oriented Pete's Dragon.

It'd be almost pointless to call Pete's Dragon a remake at all. Built on the core foundations of the original, the movie takes such a fresh the angle on it that I'm surprised that they kept the name. Rightfully so, since the original was - however ironically fun - weirdly outdated even for its time; obviously trying to replicate the success of Mary Poppins, the movie squanders the otherwise interesting "Calvin and Hobbes" influences in favor of bizarre song numbers and old-timey camp. It takes a special talent (namely David Lowery coming off the shoes of the indie crowd with Ain't Them Bodies Saints) to rework this from the ground up and ultimately surpass the original by a country mile, and the people involved succeeded. Pete's Dragon captures the childlike awe and the rustic setting like the original but with a much more meditative, gentle tone, resulting in the most honest and emotional family tale of 2016. The movie starts with a very young Pete as the sole survivor of a tragic car crash (a sequence that defines messed up) in the isolated woods in the Pacific Northwest. Alone with no family left, he scours for refuge after being chased by wolves, until he encounters a gigantic but also a friendly green dragon, who is appropriately called back to Falkor from Neverending Story. The dragon takes pity for the lost boy and the two instantly form a bond. After a huge, yet delightful, piece of the first act focusing on the dragon (called Elliot) and Pete just playing around, they soon encounter a lumber company led by Karl Urban who wishes to cover more ground in the woods under the disapproval of Bryce Dallas Howard as his park-ranging stepsister. Alongside her is Oona Laurence as her daughter who soon greets Pete and soon makes a connection with the rest of the family. But when Urban grows suspicious of the woods after his confrontation with Pete, he soon develops a different motive for proceeding further in the woods. Now before you say anything, yes, the story isn't all that new and you probably know where this is going. The lumberman might step into the bad guy role in the pursuit of the dragon. Pete winds up retreading the fish-out-of-water story beats. There's a subtle tension between Pete and Elliot in the beginning of the third act. Heck, there's an old man (played by an otherwise fantastic Robert Redford) who tells a story about the dragon who turns out wasn't crazy after all. However, this movie goes to show that how you approach these clichés is important, and the amount of patience and rawness Lowery approaches these should be given more credit. From the very first scene to the last, David Lowery proves himself as an unexpected master of rural scene geography and cinematic language. It's big things like the setting and tone, which feels reminiscent of an old Terrence Malick piece. It's small things, like the way it shows certain plot points rather than telling us and the personal dynamics between Pete, Elliot, and the family. And it's the things with individual scenes, like the first act devoting itself to just Pete playing around in the woods with his amazingly rendered dragon friend, and a sequence where Pete interacts with the unfamiliar town in which might be the best version of such moments. The clichés themselves are given more honesty and complete lack of plot contrivances. It all culminates in a piece that largely feels fresh and accessible without being too twee or fluffy. But the biggest accomplishment of this film truly lies in how it does wonder with its coming-of-age parable. Despite some effective adult development with Redford, Howard and the rest of the family - Urban himself isn't much of a bad guy in this as he is a man who's ambition goes too far - it's all kept just simple enough to let the child perspective to truly sell. Referring back to the Calvin and Hobbes influences, Elliot himself embodies a child's struggle to cope with the loss of friends or family, even as far as resulting Elliot resembling more like a giant dog or teddy bear than an actual dragon. So the whole film structures itself as a trial for young Pete to fully embrace human connection again. In the end, Pete's Dragon implicitly tells the youngsters that it's okay to move on from your loneliness, and it does so without any stupid dance numbers or weirdly dated stereotypes. And believe me, guys, this results in probably one of the most heartbreaking endings I've ever seen in any kids movie. This perspective almost comes with a weakness during the third act, where some of the characters classify him as an actual freaking dragon while the perspective mutes most of Elliots grand scale. This issue is honestly almost all throughout the movie but only highlights itself more prominently during the end. That minor issue aside, Pete's Dragon proves worthy of its own place of original works, let alone as a remake. It's the type we get seldom these days, where the remake redefines its own name by having a man with a unique vision builds a whole new creation out of the same blueprint much like David Cronenberg with The Fly or The Coen Brothers with True Grit. Everything from the true nostalgic charm to the rustic geography to Elliot's unique design to the introspective tone works wonders in a movie I've never thought I see in my life. I'm usually bad at spotting a classic, but this might be the one. More than a family film, Pete's Dragon is about the little child in all of us that grows up. We need that child when we are young but as the movie unfolds ...we learn that life is living and we are part of something bigger that just our innerself. The products at Shopwell's Grocery Store are made to believe a code that helps them live happy lives until it's time for them to leave the comfort of the supermarket and head for the great beyond. However, after a botched trip to the great beyond leaves one sausage named Frank and his companion Bun stranded, Frank goes to great lengths (pun intended) to return to his package and make another trip to the great beyond. But as Frank's journey takes him from one end of the supermarket to the other, Frank's quest to discover the truth about his existence as a sausage turns incredibly dark. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have reunited once again in this incredibly raunchy R- rated comedy following their success with 'This Is The End' and 'Neighbors', except what's different this time is this comedy is an CGI animated feature revolving around talking food products rather than human characters (though there are a few). For a movie starring and written by Seth Rogen, you would expect to see a straight forward raunchy comedy with no-holds-bar vulgarity and abundance of four letter words. This comedy however, manages to squeeze in a surprisingly thought-provoking allegory to religion along with the predictably irreverent humor, similar to what we saw in 'This Is The End' which followed a cast of characters trying to survive the apocalypse. Featuring the voices of Seth Rogen, Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride, David Krumholtz, Salma Hayek, James Franco, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd, and several others to name; this movie follows a wide of cast of food products at a local supermarket who live their lives awaiting to be taken away by the "gods" (shopping customers) into a world known as the "great beyond", a place of comfort and endless happiness. When they discover the ugly truth of what really goes on in the so-called paradise, Frank the Sausage (voiced by Seth Rogen) must rally up his friends to help save from the unspeakable terror that awaits them. A comedy about foul-mouth talking food? Yeah, kinda sounds like a dumb idea, right? Well, with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg behind the writing process, this movie unexpectedly manages to be much smarter than what you may anticipate while at the same time, being hysterically funny in blatantly absurd ways. Advertised with inventive marketing, this highly anticipated comedy delivers much more than just a string of raunchy R-rated humor and a no-brainer of a plot. Rogen and Goldberg accomplish this by formulating the plot that serves as a metaphor to Christianity, with the food being purchased by shoppers and taken into the "great beyond" which serves as a clear analogy to heaven. One line in particular is "the gods work in mysterious ways". This also includes some comedic dialogue and humor that falls metaphorical to references of the bible including a silly musical number in which the film opens up with. Yes, the humor has no reservation of being politically incorrect or downright offensive, especially with all the seemingly non-stop profanity. At the same time, Rogen and Goldberg know how to make it funny and subversive. Sure, some of the jokes do fall on the mean-spirited side, or under the not-so-rare circumstances push the envelope, particularly the massive food orgy scene. Though it is meant to be funny, it's necessarily clever or even charming in the slightest. On the other hand, the film as a whole knows how to be funny in a way that works, even without the constant vulgar gags thrown around here and there. Sausage Party is a funny and irreverent animated comedy that shows Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg still have their A-game, even if their over-the-top humor isn't everyone's cup of tea. This movie is astoundingly hilarious and is worth seeing. However, although this is an animated feature, parents are strongly discouraged of bringing their children to this one. So if you are a parent, please hire a babysitter and leave the kids at home. This is not a film you'll want to expose to their young eyes. There was a huge emphasis on talking with as many swears as possible and less on the visual gags or whatever but it was still pretty funny. The first 30-60 seconds of the movie definitely earned the R-rating without a doubt. I enjoyed the characterization of the different foods into the ethnic stereotyped roles which made the film more enjoyable believe it or not. Also, I haven't seen a scene as crazy as the end of this film since the puppet sex scene from Team America. If you like dirty humor, check this one out, it's worth it. If you don't like dirty humor, probably best to stay fairly far away from it.
